Body Treatments - Waxing 4.jpg

What To Do BEFORE Your Waxing Service?

  • Do not apply oils or lotions to the area to be waxed.

  • Do not soak the area prior to waxing.

  • Use a numbing product at least 30 min. before waxing, especially for bikini, take Tylenol® or Advil® for pain if necessary.

  • Take into consideration: Sensitivity is increased during menstrual periods.

  • Make sure hair is long enough to wax.

  • Do not use any AHA’s or exfoliating products 2 days prior to service.

  • Notify your esthetician if you are using RETIN-A or RENOVA.

  • Warning: We will not be able to perform waxing services on anyone using RETIN-A or RENOVA within the last two (2) weeks. Scarring and lifting of the skin may occur if a waxing service is performed on an area where RETIN-A or RENOVA is used.

What To Do AFTER Your Waxing Service?

  • Avoid application of heat to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. This includes hot baths, saunas and hot tubs.

  • Avoid sunbathing for 12 to 24 hours after waxing. This includes any strong UV light exposure or sun bed treatments.

  • Avoid applying any products to the waxed area for 12-24 hours such as perfume, deodorant, etc.

  • Avoid using harsh abrasives or exfoliators in the waxed area. This includes any AHA (glycolic acids) products. If you are prone to in-grown hairs, loofah sponge/mitts or exfoliant scrubs can be used once the hair has begins to grow back.

  • Avoid applying high SPF sun blocks to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. After the 12 to 24 hours, a sunscreen must be worn. Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to the newly waxed skin. This includes Self-Tanning products and Tan Accelerators.

  • Any redness of the skin should disappear within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment. Slight redness is normal and indicates that the hair was removed from the root; rather than superficially broken off, as with shaving.

  • It is recommended to avoid waxing services on the day of a major event, try to wax at least 2 days before; open pores, make-up, stress and skin sensitivities may cause break-outs, especially if your skin is not used to it. Most common on the face.

  • For best results, repeat your professional waxing every 4 to 6 weeks. Hair must be ¼ - ½ inches long. Because the hair growth rate is different for each person, you may need to come in before or after the 4 to 6 week time period.
